Plug in the USB webcam (or use the tablet’s), at face height. That’s all the hardware you need.
- 2Link the device
On that device, sign in to JimSync, open Settings and press “Link this device”. The terminal stays tied to your gym for 30 days.
- 3Turn on the camera
Press “Enable camera” and put the browser in full screen (F11). Every member with a photo and a valid membership checks in just by looking.
For reliable recognition
- Camera between 1.40 and 1.70 m, straight at the face.
- Light from the front; avoid a bright window or door behind members.
- Members 50–120 cm from the camera, no cap or dark glasses.
- Take the sign-up photo with the same camera: same angle, better results.

Get started ↗What do I need for facial recognition check-in?
A USB webcam or your computer’s or tablet’s camera, and a browser. No reader, no technician, no works: plug in the camera, link the terminal from Settings and in 30 seconds members check in just by looking.
Is JimSync free?
Yes. The Free plan includes up to 80 active members and one facial access terminal, no card required. As you grow: Growth at $590 MXN a month (up to 200 active members, 3 terminals) or Unlimited at $1,190 MXN a month.
Is it more hygienic than a fingerprint reader?
Yes. With facial recognition nobody presses a finger on a shared sensor: members look at the camera and walk in. There’s also no reader to clean and no failed reads because of dirt.
What happens to my members’ photos?
The profile photo is private to your gym and every gym has its own database. Terminal images are analysed on the spot to recognise the member and are never stored.
What do members see when they arrive?
Their photo, name and remaining membership days. If their membership has expired, the terminal tells them and does not record the visit, so you can help them at the front desk.
Can I record visits without a camera?
Yes. You can record check-ins by hand from Visits and use the facial terminal only when it suits you. Everything lands in the same history and reports.
Does it work for gyms in Mexico?
Yes: prices in pesos (MXN), Spanish and English interface, your time zone and cash, card, transfer or mixed payments.
